Overnight Train Tour Package taking the Algoma Central Railway Passenger Train to Errington's Wilderness Island Resort for wildlife and nature viewing in the Chapleau Wildlife Preserve. You take the Algoma Central Railway Passenger Train out of Hearst which is a 2 hour drive west of Cochrane. Ontario Northland train and bus service is also available from downtown Toronto to Hearst. This overnight tour includes the Algoma Passenger Train from Hawk Junction Station and a night with meals and pontoon boat nature tours at Errington's Wilderness Island Resort on Lake Wabatongushi in the Chapleau Wildlife Preserve.

    • Return Train Tickets included from Hearst
      • Passenger Train departs Hearst for Wabatongushi Lake Fridays, Sundays. (Train also departs on Tuesdays but this would be for longer stays since the next train north to Hearst would be Thursday)
      • Passenger Train departs Wabatongushi Lake for Hearst Saturdays and Mondays. (See note above about Thursday northbound train to Hearst)
      • Train takes approximately 3 hours from Hearst to Wabatongushi Lake where you will be met by the Errington Family and staff and taken by Pontoon boat to Errington's Wilderness Island Resort 15-20 minutes down the lake.
      • Train leaves Hearst at approximately 8:00 am and arrives at Wabatongushi Lake at approximately 11:00 am
      • Departure train leaves Wabatongushi Lake at approximately 4:30 pm and arrives at Hearst at approximately 7:30 pm.
    • If you would like the added adventure of a float plane fly-in or fly-out option, Hearst Air Float Plane Base is only a short distance from the Hearst Train Station.
      • Hearst Air will provide any shuttling needed between their float plane base and Hearst Station.
      • Float Plane Services are charters and can be arranged any days of the week, at any time during daylight hours.

      • Deposit of $100/person required to confirm reservation.
      • Deposits can be made by VISA or Mastercard over the phone.
      • Reservation confirmation is mailed or emailed to you after deposit is processed.
    • Float Plane-Hearst Air OtterCancellations
      • Cancellations received more than 3 months before departure date receive full deposit refund less $10/person processing fee.
      • Cancellation received less than 3 months before departure date, deposits may be transferred as a non-refundable deposit for another vacation date at the discretion of Errington's Wilderness Island Resort management.
      • Deposits can be transferred to any other person, at any time, if that person does not yet have a reservation.
      • Balance can be paid before departure from Errington's Wilderness Island Resort with VISA, Mastercard, Debit Cards or Cash in Canadian or US Funds

    • Float plane in, out, or both ways, by Hearst Air instead of taking the train
    • Ontario Northland (Northlander) Train & Shuttle Bus from Toronto's Union Station & Southern Ontario
