Wilderness Train Tours

A short but delectable taste of our
Northern Wilderness, our overnight wilderness tours offer a brief
journey into the Canada's Boreal Forest Wilderness where we will
introduce you to the nature and wildlife of our natural neighbourhood.
Whether you journey from Sault Ste Marie through Agawa Canyon,
travel along Lake Superior's ruggedly picturesque coast and take
a train from Hawk Junction just outside of Wawa, or take the northern
route from Hearst...
Rough It In Velvet!
... and explore our Northern Canadian Wilderness in Comfort.
We meet you when
you get off the train at the Lake Wabatongushi "Wabatong-Mile
206" stop and bring you by Pontoon boat for 15 minutes to
our wilderness island resort. Once settled into your comfortable
accommodations, enjoy a delicious dinner in the Errington's licensed
dining room. After dinner relax around the resort, go for a walk
on some of our nature trails, or enjoy a guided boat tour of Lake
Wabatongushi for wildlife viewing.
There has been
no hunting or trapping inside this 3,000 sq mile (7,000 sq km)
chapleau wildlife sanctuary since 1925 and you have a good chance
of seeing wildlife in their native habitat such as moose, black
bear, bald eagles and Loons. After returning to the resort, relax
and let the haunting cries of the Loons lull you to sleep.
Next morning enjoy
a sumptuous breakfast, then do a little more exploring of the
area either on your own or on another guided pontoon boat tour.
Approximately 1/2 hour before train time we will bring you back
to the train bt pontoon boat.
This complete train tour package includes:
- All train fares (or Float
Plane option out of Hawk Junction)

train to our resort island

* Combine Agawa Canyon with
our Superior Wilderness Train out of Hawk Junction so you can
enjoy both the Agawa Canyon experience and the spectacular Lake
Superior Coast with an overnight stay and nature experiences at
our wilderness island resort. We recommend taking the 1-Day Agawa
Canyon Train Tour out of Sault Ste Marie the day before and then
liesurely taking the scenic 2 1/2 to 3 hour drive along the Lake
Superior Coast to Hawk Junction the next day. Less expensive,
shorter times on the train and you get to enjoy both Agawa Canyon
& the specacularly scenic Lake Superior Coast.
